In 2022 ACORN was pleased to begin work with the Women’s Reformatory of Erbil. Here, children without outside caretakers have had no other option than to grow up imprisoned alongside their incarcerated mothers.
Working closely with the Ministry of Justice and the Women’s Reformatory of Erbil, ACORN is committed to helping enrich the lives of these children one day at a time.
Assisting the efforts of these local entities, ACORN provides a creative learning environment, enrichment opportunities, English language teaching, and cultivation of essential life skills in preparation for life outside prison walls.
It is ACORN’s privilege to partner with the Ministry of Justice, seeking to find just, sustainable solutions for the future of this young generation.
